This is book three in the Garden Friends series, written by Rose McKey. The Garden Friends include Gru the caterpillar, featured in book one, Ginger the cat, featured in book two, as well as Rufus the dog, Gilly the goldfish, Lory the dove and of course the hero in book three, Louie the mouse.

In this story all the animals in Moonstone Garden are preparing their safe places for winter, all of the animals except Louie the mouse. He only wants to play and sees no point in so much hard work. But a storm moves in over Moonstone Garden, and Lazy Louie is left to fend for himself in the strong wind and heavy rain. What will happen to Louie? He doesn’t have a safe place of his own.
